Lumba the orphaned girl is a non fiction short novel based on the true story of a girl who lost her mother at birth. Lumba was adopted by a couple from Southern Province of Zambia and everything was fine until she was fourteen years old when her folster parents decided to take her to a boarding school where she got involved with wrong company. She met disgruntled characters like Dulu who made her constantly fall into deliquesce and later on was pregnant with a baby boy Tulani who brought in some sense of responsibility for the young couple. Both Lumba and Dulu were expelled from school in there ninth and tenth grades respectively for a misconduct of engaging in a sexual affair which resulted in the said pregnancy and an early marriage. The book brings out the consequences of teenage pregnancy and exposes the discrimination an African orphan girl child undergoes when she makes wrong decisions. Dulu went back to school whilest his partner Lumba got stuck with a pregnancy at the inlaws farm in the village where she became the centre of mockery and ridicule by the community...
